PerlkatĀ® silica gels

Stable catalyst support with Perlkat silica gels
BASF Perlkat® silica gels are beaded, amorphous silica gel catalyst support. The selection of substrate is critical for heterogenous catalysis, and it is primarily determined by the nature of the reaction system

There are currently two types of Perlkat silica gels available:

BASF Perlkat 79-3: A beaded, amorphous silica gel catalyst support containing aluminum.
BASF Perlkat 97-0: A high-purity, beaded, amorphous silica gel catalyst support.

Superior pore structure
BASF Perlkat silica gels allow for a fine dispersion of the active catalytic material on its surface. It has a pore size distribution which allows for the free transport of the reactants and products to and from the active sites.

Underlying Perlkat's suitability as a catalyst support is its high specific surface area, pore volume and pore size distribution with a maximum of +/- 10 nm.

High purity and spherical particle form
The high purity of BASF Perlkat silica gels ensure its inert behavior and the ability for use at high temperatures over a long period. The beaded shape of Perlkat provides excellent mechanical stability which proves to be an important advantage for catalytic applications.
