CLEANOx® FCC additive

BASF has long been known for its innovations in NOx-related chemistry and catalysis in the automotive industry. Now, we have seamlessly leveraged that knowledge and expertise to addressing the NOx emissons concerns of oil refiners.

BASF proudly introduces CLEANOx®, an FCC additive for reduced NOx emissions. CLEANOx is a novel combination of active materials having nitric oxide adorption and reduction properties and highly stable surfaces. The optimal combination of chemical and physical properties reduces NOx emissions from the regenerator. In addition, the high stability of the materials used to design CLEANOx allows for a half-life on the order of weeks, rather than days like most other competitive products.

CLEANOx has been proven under harsh regenerator environments including those using oxygen enrichment, platinum-based CO promoters and initial NOx level below 50 ppm. Substantially reduced NOx emissions, with no change in product selectivity, have been achieved at low additive concentrations.
